For the 27 aneroid barometers in my collection, I calculated and tabulated the readability of the pressure scales.  By readability I mean the number of millibars per centimeter of pressure scale on the outermost scale of the barometer.  I added a page to the website with a table of the readability values and the barometers ranked from most readable to least readable.  Not surprisingly, the largest barometers were most readable, while the least readable was a pocket altimeter.  The table is found on the page 'Aneroid Barometer Readability' under ' Barometric Calculations, Calibration, and Accuracy' on the Home Page.

Go to Readability Table.
