The Six's thermometer was invented by James Six in the UK in 1780.  It records the maximum and minimum temperature for the time interval since it was last reset.  It is reset by using a magnet to reposition the small steel markers in the glass tube that indicate the maximum and minimum temperatures.  This Taylor Six's thermometer is of heavy brass construction which suggests that it is an industrial instrument rather than a commercial product.  I don't have a date for it, I've never seen it in the collection of Taylor catalogs available on this website.  The logo 'Taylor' rather than 'Tycos' suggests it is newer than 1932.
