The Compass Instrument & Optical Company was founded in New York in 1937. They sold an inexpensive line of barometers and thermometers for the home market as well as binoculars and other optics. They are still in business as Compass Industries and are probably best known for their Mag-Lite line of flashlights. They still sell binoculars but not weather instruments.
