The glassware firm Hugo Wernicke was founded in 1907 in Ilmenau, Germany.  It survived WWII but I believe in 1976 it was merged with other Ilmenau glassware firms into a state conglomerate in what was then East Germany.  If any of our German visitors can provide more details, please contact me.
