Belfort 6079 Marine Barometer
This is a Belfort Model 6079 Marine Barometer dating from 1984. The National Weather Service label means that it was manufactured to NWS specifications and calibrated for shipboard use. The military version of this barometer is the ML-448 Naval Weather Service barometer, built to military specifications and with a slightly different dial scale.
It's a large and sturdy instrument, with a 6.5 inch dial face. I bought it from India, presumably from the ship breakers there. It's a precision instrument in good condition and works well. The only fault is that the calibration screw is a little coarse for my liking.
