This Lufft altimeter pressure station was probably used at an airport to determine sea level pressure for use in setting aircraft altimeters.  The black knob at the bottom front of the instrument sets the airport elevation above sea level on the small dial on the bottom of the main dial.  In the center of the knob is a button.  When pressed, this button activates a small internal hammer that jars the mechanism in case the dial needle is stuck.  It has a 4.75 inch dial.
