Short & Mason
Short & Mason (S&M) was founded in London in 1864 by Thomas Watling Short and William James Mason. They were makers of barometers, anemometers and compasses. Taylor Brothers acquired Short & Mason in 1900 and Taylor marketed their made-in-England products in the USA. In 1969 Short & Mason was merged into Taylor Instruments, which was then a subsidiary of Sybron Corporation.
