Casella
In 1799, Caesar Tagliabue, an Italian instrument maker, established a company in Holborn, in the West End of London. In 1820 the company moved to 23 Hatton Garden in London. In 1838, Tagliabue became partners with his son-in-law Louis Pascal Casella, and the name of the company was changed to Tagliabue and Casella. Caesar Tagliabue died in 1844, and in 1848 the company was renamed Louis Casella & Co, sometimes written as L P Casella.
In 1897, Louis died and his son Charles Frederick Casella took over. The company name was changed to C F Casella and it was incorporated as such in 1910. In 1905 the company moved from Holburn to Westminster, and in 1912 they moved to the south of London. Charles died in 1916. In 1918 they were partially merged with D Gilson & Co, a manufacturer of screws and turned parts. But they continued as C F Casella & Co.
In 2006, Casella was acquired by IDEAL Industries in the USA.
