John Patrick (1654-1730) was an early English instrument maker who specialized in mercury barometers.  Patrick began his career as an apprentice to joiner William Thompson.  His shop was originally 'against Bull Head Court in Jewin Street, near Cripplegate Church'.  Later he moved to 'Ship Court, Old Bailey' in London.
