Arthur J Foerster
Arthur Foerster founded his small firm in Chemnitz in 1912 as a manufacturer of barometers and manometers. Military altitude and depth gauges were manufactured starting in 1936. Following WWII, the firm operated in East Germany until 1972, when it was nationalized and the name was changed to VEB Manometer Karl-Marx-Stadt. State ownership ended and the company went out of business in 1990.
