Fischer
Fischer was founded in October 1945 by aircraft engineer Karl Fischer as a manufacturer of mechanical measurement instruments in Drebach, Germany. They were in East Germany (the GDR) until the reunification of Germany in 1990. They started making barometers in 1946, and other meteorological instruments shortly thereafter. In 1958 the name was changed to Feingeraetebau Kurt Fischer KG, with state shareholders. In 1990 the firm was privatized as Feingeraetebau K Fischer GmbH and ownership was returned to the Fischer family group. A new production facility was built in Drebach in 1997. Since 2012, all mechanical meteorological instruments marketed by Lufft are manufactured by Fischer. In 2015, Fischer became part of ProInn Beteiligungen GmbH Heidenau Group.
