From 1961, this is a Density Altitude Computer designed by the Weather Research Facility(?). The logo on the front side has an anchor on it, it may have been for use by the US Navy.
The density altitude is the altitude at which, under standard atmospheric conditions, the air density would be equal to the observed density. It is used in aircraft performance evaluations.
The observed pressure, dry bulb temperature and dewpoint are input to the slide rule to calculate density altitude. Wet bulb temperature may be used in lieu of dewpoint. The density value may also be read.
The slide rule is made of aluminum and is 6 inches in diameter. Its a little hard to turn the scales.
