The Standard Thermometer Company was founded in Peabody, Massachusetts in 1885.  They were primarily known for their bimetallic dial thermometers but this is an example of a Standard glass bulb thermometer.  They also made speedometers.  I don't know how long they were in business, but their trademark 'Standard' expired in 1992.  The spirit-filled glass tube is 5 inches long and has a range of -10 F to 120 F.  I don't know the age of this thermometer but it shows many years of weathering.
