Roessel-Messtechnik was founded in 1945 in Dresden, East Germany as a manufacturer of temperature sensors and meteorological instruments.  It later became VEB Instruments and Controls Treptow under state control.  In 1961 the founder established a new company in West Germany.  With the unification of Germany in 1990, the two companies were merged.  They continue in operation today with a much expanded product list.
