Today I added a section on calibration and accuracy tests that I have performed on several precision aneroid barometers.  The accuracy of aneroid barometers compared to digital barometers is also presented.  It may be found on the website homepage.

​I also added excerpts from a 1954 WM Welch catalog to the catalog collection, in the US catalog section.

Today I added 8 thermometers from my collection to the website, with photos and descriptions. This includes glass bulb thermometers, bimetallic dial thermometers, and max min thermometers. I will add a few more in a few days.

Today I added photos and descriptions of the hygrometers in my instrument collection. This includes wet bulb hygrometers, hair hygrometers, and coil hygrometers. I also added a recent addition to my barometer collection, a Yanagi 8A. Next task is to add the thermometers.
I also added a 15 page excerpt from a 1933 W M Welch catalog showing the meteorological instruments that they supplied. It's in the US instrument catalog section.

Today I posted for download a rare 1905 catalog from Queen & Company of Philadelphia for thermometers and meteorological instruments.  I also added eight aneroid barometers to the instrument collection section, with photos and descriptions.  I will be adding hygrometers and thermometers in the next several days.  Need to finish the history of the US National Weather Service beyond 1970.

Today I added a meteorological instrument catalog from J H Steward of the UK, undated but probably from the 1930s.  I also added my two mercury barometers to the instrument collection section.  One is a Henry J Green Observatory Barometer in working condition.  The other is a Henry J Green Mountain Barometer from 1885 - 1890 which does not have mercury in it.  I included for download a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to calculate the local pressure and sea level pressure from mercury barometer data. Comparisons of the mercury barometer measurements with several common digital barometers are also provided.

I started developing the Analog Weather Website on April 8, 2016 and decided today to add a blog dedicated to vintage analog weather instruments in general and the content of this website in particular.  I have many more weather instruments to photograph and add to the website, and have been adding instrument catalogs to the site as I find them.  I plan to post descriptions of new additions to the site every few weeks.  It's my first website and my first blog, so please be patient.
