Today I posted numerous documents related to barometers, both aneroid and mercury.  I also divided the barometer download web page into separate web pages for general barometer documents, aneroid documents, and mercury documents, as the page was getting too large.

Today I added two mercury barometers to the instrument collection on the website:

1. A Fortin barometer made by James Green & Henry J Green, from around 1879 to 1885.  J Green & H J Green were partners in this period.  It is not functioning, there's no mercury in it.  See now.
2. A Fortin barometer made by W M Welch around 1949.  It also is not functioning, there is no mercury in it.  See now.

​I also revised the text for the Henry J Green mercury barometers already on the website.

Today I posted two Ohio Thermometer catalogs, one from 1947 and the other, I believe, from the 1950s.  They may be found under Catalog Collection/United States/Ohio Thermometer.

A website visitor from Switzerland pointed out that I incorrectly had listed Thermindex as a German company, when it in fact was Swiss.  I have moved the Thermindex catalog page to be listed under Switzerland in the catalog collection, and have added more information on Thermindex and a thermometer photograph.

I added several documents to the website in the last several days, including the following:

1. From the 1800s, a 2 page article on filling barometer tubes by James Green was added, under Miscellaneous Downloads/Instrument Downloads/Barometer Downloads.  See now.
2. From 1889, a US Signal Service booklet "The Temperature of the Dew Point, Relative Humidity, and Vapor Pressure was added under Miscellaneous Downloads/Instrument Downloads/Hygrometer Downloads.  It's 27 pages.  See now.
3. From 1961, the US Weather Bureau booklet "The Instrumental Program of the US Weather Bureau" was added under Miscellaneous Downloads/General Instrument Downloads.  Its 17 pages.  See now.
4. From 1857, the booklet "The History and Use of the Barometer" by Lum Woodruff was added under Miscellaneous Downloads/Instrument Downloads/Barometer Downloads.  It's 16 pages.  See now.
5. From 1896, the US Weather Bureau booklet ""Wind Signals for Displaymen" was added under Miscellaneous Downloads/Instrument Downloads/Anemometer Downloads.  It's 11 pages.  See now.
