The C P Goerz Company was founded in 1886 by Carl Paul Goerz.  Located in Berlin, they were primarily manufacturers of cameras and lenses but did make weather instruments.  In 1926 they were merged into ownership by the Carl Zeiss Company and their product lines disappeared.  Their American branch, the C P Goerz American Optical Company, continued in operation until 1972.
